I am an enthusiastic science communicator and public speaker, with four decades of experience. In recent years, I have given hundreds of interviews to to media outlets in Australia and internationally, discuss the latest news about astronomy, astrophysics, and space science. My global media engagement has reached an audience in excess of two billion per year throughout the last decade, and I am always enthusiastic and happy to engage with media of all types worldwide.
I am passionate about the communication of science to the widest possible audience. I give regular public talks to schools, community groups, and astronomical societies. A highlight of my annual public speaking calendar are my regular visits to the incredible Lady Elliot Island, as part of their ongoing guest speaker program. I visit the island several times per year, giving talks and leading guided naked-eye night sky observing sessions for the island's guests.
In recent years, I have given a number of after-dinner speeches at events across Australia - including the 2025 Exploration Managers' Conference, held on the Gold Coast in September 2025. I can combine these talks with guided naked-eye night sky viewing, to ensure that the audience has a truly memorable night beneath the stars.
